Western Wayne recently has hired college students that are weight lifters to help train our athletes and students who want to stay in shape. One of these students, trainer Dom, a Marywood student who is studying in this field which makes him more than qualified to be a trainer at our school.  When I got a chance to speak with him, he explained to me how he became interested in weight training.  He is not only very knowledgeable about lifting ,but also he enjoys playing the guitar and listening to music which is a good thing to have because it helps working out when you can relate as I also play...

Helping people in need:  That is what the Western Wayne C.A.T.S Club is all about. The most recent activity that the C.A.T.S club participated in was sending medical kits to kids in Africa. C.A.T.S Club is a club at Western Wayne that stands for community attitude towards success. C.A.T.S Club is all about volunteering and helping the community and that is exactly what they are doing. The club has done many community based volunteer work in the past and in the future. This organization tries to get the students of Western Wayne involved in the community they live in. They also try to get non-members to help the community and other people. Dessin Animal Shelter is looking for caring, reliable and responsible volunteers who have a minimum age of 16. Dessin is a private, nonprofit organization located at 138 Miller Drive in Honesdale. The shelter was founded in 1968 by mother and daughter, Olga and Dorothea Dessin. Their contribution and compassion for animals reflect the commitment of keeping their dream alive today by the dedicated staff, volunteers and board members.
