Poet’s Corner: Friends

Poet’s Corner: Friends

October 27, 2018

Friends I have been so empty For so long, Just waiting for real friends to come along. I have been used, My kindness abused, Just to have the blame pointed on me and to be accused. Everyone I trusted to stay with me had left, And even though they left so long ago my heart they have kept. People will come, and people will go, But to think that this friendship was only for show Hits me with a harsh blow. But, alas, some real friends finally come around, Creeping up on me without a sound. It feels so warm to finally have found Some real true friends who...

Somewhere Changing as we roll into the sea Fading into another distant memory.   This place we knew used to be our home We knew it all by heart Now I stand here alone And I don’t recognize any part   The door creaks open for something new Some aspects will never change People need to go To make room for others to grow But as selfish as this sounds, I miss you.   I look up outside of where it all began knowing that I’ll see you again Soon I’ll see you Somewhere See you Somewhere Someday, somehow Somew...

Senior projects do much more than fulfill a student's obligation to plan and complete a project. Here at WWHS, they offer a chance for students to showcase their interests, abilities, and even future career goals. Senior Lilli Millon volunteered out at Keen Lake Campground as an activity director throughout the summer. Lilli also assisted in activities and games with the children at the campground including dressing up and playing games on the beach. Lilli gained a variety of experiences through this job, anything from “meeting and working with people of all ages” to “dressing up as a princess and reindeer!” Senior Breanna Fenwick’s project was working with the Waymart Church’s youth ministry. Breanna observed, planned, and presented lessons for the children in kid’s celebration on Sunday mornings...

"Good Things" by Emma Dwyer I made a wish on my eyelash just yesterday; I prayed I wished for a change to be made.   I believe in shooting stars and pennies in the pond. I know that one day My wish for a change will be paid.   I cross my fingers and look up to the sky hoping there's a being who is listening to me.   If you are there, please stay a little while - we can have a chat. Let's have a talk of Wishing wells over Afternoon tea.   I'm a dreamer, I am told I have too much trust, That some will...
