Track Members Wrap up Season with Indoor Meet

"Select members of the Varsity Track and Field Indoor Team competed at the PTFCA Carnival Meet at Lehigh University on Saturday, February 11. The meet featured athletes from 150 teams across PA, with very tough qualifying standards. To start the day, Trina Barcarola matched her PR in the Pole Vault with a 10-6, placing 9th of 18. Cody Kurtz had a PR in the 400, going 54.34 to place 12th of 23. Jake Pasake ran a 9:08.18 in the 3000, a 12 second PR, and he placed 7th out of 16. The team of Elizabeth Pulice (1:08.8), Morgan Wagner (1:09.1), Annie Skirpan (1:04.1) and Trina Barcarola (1:04.2) ran an official time of 4:26.27 to place 24th out of 30. This meet wraps up the indoor season for most of our athletes."

"The Varsity Indoor Track and Field teams recently competed at the Susquehanna Indoor Classic on Sunday, January 29. There were fifty-two teams in attendance from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Many of our student athletes had personal records (PR's) and season-best times, providing a great jump-start to the outdoor season.

Being great involves a “commitment to excellence”. This winter has certainly been a commitment to excellence for the Western Wayne indoor track and field throwers. They have been working nonstop to achieve greatness for the winter as well as for the spring. They have been grinding, hustling, and putting their blood sweat and tears into the Western Wayne weight room for the past three months and counting.

The Western Wayne indoor track and field club recently competed at the Douglas Wesner Memorial H.S. Invite at Kutztown University on Saturday, January 21. Seventy four teams were represented at this indoor high school meet that included teams from New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

The Western Wayne Wildcats finished their 2016 regular season with a 5-5 record and the title of Eastern Conference Class 3A Champs against Meyers. This game had a lot riding on it because it was a chance to show other schools that the Wildcats are back and hungrier than ever. The Wildcats did not disappoint.
