Mrs. Ort is the band director and band teacher for Western Wayne high school and middle school and does well at it. Though she moved around a lot, she graduated from Oak Mount Regional High School in Massachusetts and moved here in 2003 for Marywood University. Rebecca  Boots had an opportunity to ask her a few questions. This is what Mrs. Ort had to say:

How did you come across Western Wayne?  

“When I moved to Pennsylvania, when I went to college at Marywood.” 

 

What is something most students don’t know about you? 

“I am the oldest of five kids.” 

 

What do you enjoy most about what you teach? 

“I enjoy looking for the ah-ha(!) moment.” 

 

What are some of your favorite things? 

 1.book/ The Fellowship of the Ring 

2.song/Rainbow Connection 

3.movie/ Singing in the Rain 

4.favorite marching band theme/ Robin Hood Prince of thieves 

5.food/Fresh mashed potatoes 

 

If you were to be in a magazine, what would your headline be? 

“I don’t know I don’t like to make the News. The picture would be me and the marching band.” 

What is your favorite quote? 

Failure is not an option-Apolo 13 

If Hollywood were to make a movie about your life who would play you? 

“Carol Burnett, she is sassy and funny and I love the way she is on screen.” 

 

If you were able to go back in time where would you go? 

“The first time I opened up my first French horn case in fifth grade. So I can relive the excitement.
