Track Athletes Set Personal Records and Seasonal Best Times at Susquehanna Indoor Classic

The Varsity Indoor Track and Field teams recently competed at the Susquehanna Indoor Classic on Sunday, January 29. There were fifty-two teams in attendance from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Many of our student athletes had personal records (PR’s) and season-best times, providing a great jump-start to the outdoor season.


On the girls’ side, Samantha Atcavage ran season-best 1:05.81 in the 400 to place 12th out of 37 runners, while teammate Elizabeth Pulice ran an indoor-best 1:09.46 to place 22nd. Teammate Annie Skirpan went 5:57.49 in the Mile Run (13th out of 39) and 2:38.67 in the 800 (17th out of 43) to match her indoor PR’s in both events. Torri “T-Hutch” Hutchinson ran a 6:12.95 in the Mile Run (18th) for an indoor PR while matching her outdoor PR from a year ago and also went 12:45.87 in the 3000 Meter Run, an indoor PR. Jill Dudley had a 13 second improvement in the 800 with a 2:55.02. Kaitlyn Juhasz and Maya Black finished in 7th (4-08.00) and 8th place (4-06.00), respectively, out of 16th jumpers in the High Jump. Trina Barcarola placed 2nd out of 30 competitors with a 9.83 and a PR  in the 60 Meter Hurdles, while Samantha Atcavage finished 9th. She also finished 5th out of 8 in the Pole Vault with a 10-6. The 1600 meter Relay team of Elizabeth Pulice, Samantha Atcavage, Annie Skirpan, and Trina Barcarola finished 5th out of 10 with a season-best time of 4:21.99.


On the boys’ side, Jake Pasake went 4:42.55 in the Mile Run to place 7th out of 47 runners. Jake also went 9:20.33 in the 3000, a PR, to place 2nd out of 29 runners. Randy Repsher ran a 5:20.12 in the Mile Run, also an indoor PR. Cody Kurtz had an indoor PR of 2:20.37 in the 800 Meter Run. John Mecca (8.19) and Caleb Brungard (8.27) each had season-best times in the 60 Meter Dash. Jeff Behnke pole vaulted with a 10-6.
